| 4805 | | | Heinkel HE111 Crash Relic - Mounted on a display board featuring a cut out picture of a similar aircraft. We don't have any specific information on the aircraft or crash date other than it came down at Harwich in 1940. The relic appears to be a cable control wheel in original paint and showing signs of crash damage. This item looks as though it may have been taken as a souvenir at the time rather than being wreck dug. Wheel diameter 6" (15cm). | £25.00 |
| 4814 | | | Spitfire X 4237 Crash Relics - On mounted display board with a cut out picture of a similar aircraft. Spitfire X 4237 was shot down by a ME 109 on 27.09.40. The pilot Sgt. D. Cox bailed out and his aircraft crashed at Wye Court Farm. The site was officially excavated in 1974. The mounted relics include a .303 bullet head, some shards of glass probably from the armoured screen and a damaged bearing. Board measures 9" x 6" (23cm x 15cm). | £28.00 |
| 4810 | | | Messerschmitt ME110 D Fuel Oil Pipe Relic - Mounted on a display board featuring a cut out picture of a similar aircraft. Board measurement 12.5" x 8" (32cm x 20cm). | £28.00 |
| 4802 | | | Rolls Royce Merlin Engine Piston and Con Rod - Perhaps the ultimate souvenir from the famous Merlin that powered the Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster in WWII. We suspect, looking at the condition, this one has never been used, although we have been advised it was probably for a Merlin XX engine. It is complete with fitted piston rings and believe this example would be hard to better. Diameter of piston 5.5" (13.5cm). | £185.00 |
| 4343 | | | Hawker Tempest JN765 Crash Relics - Mounted on a framed display board and includes various components officially recovered under MOD license by the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum in 1995. The aircraft of No. 3 squadron was being flown by Flying Officer George Kosh on 1st July, 1944 and was scrambled to inctercept a VI Flying Bomb. The aircraft was seen to enter low cloud but emerged in a steep dive and crashed near Winchelsea in Sussex. The pilot failed to bail out and is buried in Hawkinge. Varous air frame componenets are displayed including riveted fuselage skin and a section of the rubber dinghy. Frame measures 26" x 20" (66cm x 51cm) | £65.00 |
| 4793 | | | English Electric Canberra PR7 Tail Fin Relic - An impressive display item painted in the colours of 100 squadron which operated from RAF Whyton in the targeting role towing air drogues or acting as fast low flying intruders. We don't have any specific information on the actual aircraft this is from but the Canberra was retired from service during 1991. This relic is single sided, although much of the inner structure remains in situ. Measures: 42" high (107cm). | £245.00 |
| 1064 | | | Samovar Presented to F/Lt V.R. Paterson - Engraved from the Officers and NCO's of 78 Squadron on the occasion of his marriage 18/10/40. In addition the lid is engraved with a fine facsimile of an RAF Pilot's King's Crown Brevet. 78 squadron joined the front line in July 1940 flying Whitley Bombers as part of 4 Group based at Dishforth. Victor Roberton Paterson won a DFC 11.02.41 and was subsequently posted to join 101 squadron of 3 Group. On 21st September, 1942, Paterson was skipper of Wellington III coded X3815 flying out of RAF Stradishall on a "Gardening" sortie over Kiel Bay and off the coast of Denmark. He was attacked over Jylland by a German night fighter. Two of his crew bailed out from the burning aircraft and were subsequently captured but Patterson and the other two crew members fell with the aircraft and lost their lives in the subsequent crash on Spandet Moor. Squadron Leader Paterson DFC was just 26 years old and his wife Jane Roberton Paterson was widowed after exactly 23 months of marriage. Paterson and his two crew mates are buried in the Aabenraa Military Cemetary in Denmark close to where they fell. This samovar is an emotive tribute to 3 of the 55,500 brave aircrew of Bomber Command who made the ultimate sacrifice. On offer as a decorative item. Measures 12.5" (32cm) | £195.00 |
| 762 | | | Hawker Siddley Aviation Ltd. - A perspex signboard with recessed lettering. Hawker Siddley Aviation was formed in 1948 while Hawker Siddley Aircraft Company originated in 1935 and were responsible for aircraft such as the Sea Vixen, Hunter and the classic Trident airliner. Hawker Siddley were merged with British Aerospace in 1977. We have no provenance with this item but assume it was used in one of its factories or possibly on an HS exhibition trade stand. Measures 47" (119cm) | £35.00 |
| 4689 | | | Supermarine Spitfire Model Aircraft - Crafted from solid wood with metal undercarriage and finished in a camouflage paint scheme and RAF roundels. Judging by the blistering to the paint finish and some blackening in the underwing area, this model may have been exposed to a fire or possibly battle damage! We have no idea if this is a scratch built model or an early kit. It could well be period WWII or just post war and holes drilled in the tail and wings indicate it has spent part of its life suspended from a ceiling, possibly in a young pilot's bedroom? The Spitfire exudes period charm and is in remarkable original condition. Wing span 19" (48cm) | £85.00 |
| PS107 | | | The Waist Gunners - On this item, and other sculptures offered, we are acting as agents and your enquiry will be redirected to the artist who will then handle any questions, sales, payment and despatch.
This fine work of art captures a poignant moment as the waist gunners of a USAAF B-17 Flying Fortress relax on the grass beside the airfield perimeter track while their aircraft is prepared for the mission. While RAF Bomber Command flew night ops, their US counterparts flew daylight raids. Both figures wear classic B-3 flight jackets with matching A-3 shearling trousers. The A-6A flying boots carry the characteristic double strap fastenings and are also shearling lined for insulation. The crew member playing with his puppy is sporting a classic Rough Wear B-2 flying cap, while his buddy wears an A-11 flying helmet. Additional back support between the figures is provided by the gunner's QAC parachute packs which would be stored near their crew positions and clipped on in the event of an emergency. We are proud to have assisted the artist as technical consultants in the creation of this work of art which is made from cold-cast bronze, is signed by the artist and is available in a strictly limited edition of 250 . Length: 17" (44cm) | £325.00 |
| PS106 | | | RAF Bomber Pilot - On this item, and other sculptures offered, we are acting as agents and your enquiry will be redirected to the artist who will then handle any questions, sales, payment and despatch.
This sculpture features a pilot of RAF Bomber Command about to board his aircraft, possibly an Avro Lancaster, prior to another night operation to the heart of Germany. His headgear consists of a second pattern C type helmet and classic Mk. VIII flying goggles. He wears a thermally insulated flying suit, often referred to by the inventor's name Irvin. His life jacket is the 1941 pattern Mae West and over this is an observer's parachute harness. He carries his parachute pack in his right hand and his flying gauntlets in his left. Flying boots are 1941 pattern favoured by bomber aircrew and which feature an ankle strap designed to prevent the boots falling off in a bail out situation. The detail on this sculpture is amazing and we are proud to have assisted the artist as technical consultants in the creation of this work of art which is made from cold-cast bronze, is signed by the artist and is available in a strictly limited edition of 250 .

| PS105 | | | At Readiness - On this item, and other sculptures offered, we are acting as agents and your enquiry will be redirected to the artist who will then handle any questions, sales, payment and despatch.
This sculpture entitled "At Readiness", depicts a scene set in August 1940 while the Battle of Britain was at its height. Exhausted pilots of 11 Group Fighter Squadrons, located in the South of England, wait at dispersal for the order to scramble and take on the first Luftwaffe raids of the day. This pilot is trying to relax in an old leather armchair but finds it hard to concentrate on the novel he's reading in an attempt to divert his attention from thoughts of the battle to come. For many the waiting was the worse part. He wears a crumpled service dress uniform with an open neck shirt and non regulation cravat which helps to reduce chaffing in combat. His 1932 pattern Mae West is unbuttoned but would provide an invaluable life aid in the event of ditching "in the drink". His boots are the coveted 1936 pattern with thick fur lining to provide additional insulation and warmth in the air. We are proud to have assisted the artist as technical consultants in the creation of this work of art which is made from cold-cast bronze, is signed by the artist and is available in a strictly limited edition of 250 .

| PS104 | | | The Battle of Britain Pilot - On this item and other sculptures offered, we are acting as agents and your enquiry will be redirected to the artist who will then handle any questions, sales, payment and despatch.
This sculpture entitled 'The Battle of Britain Pilot' personifies a typical fighter pilot at the start of WW11 and is characteristic of the Battle of Britain period. He is wearing a crumpled service dress uniform standing looking into the sky with an air of youthful defiance that earned these young men Churchill's accolade 'The Few'. His flying helmet is the iconic RAF B type with bulbous receiver carriers and is fitted with a D type constant flow oxygen mask, E type microphone dating from 1935 and the detail even extends to the 6D/101 connector and RT cable and bell plug. His goggles are the Mk111A of pre war design, whilst his flying boots are 1936 pattern which were jealously guarded by fighter pilots of the period . He also wears a 1932 specification Mae West lifejacket which often proved a lifesaver in the event of a bail out over or a ditching in the English Channel. We are proud to have assisted the artist as technical consultants in the creation of this work of art which is made from cold-cast bronze, is signed by the artist and is available in a strictly limited edition of 250.

| 4490 | | | US Army Air Corps Presentation Whistle - We endeavour to offer unusual and unique items and this is certainly the first time we've seen one of these! The item incorporates an oversized ceramic whistle marked US Air Corps to one side and USA on the other, while the top is embossed with Army Air Corps. The USAAC was established in 1926 and was abolished in June 1941 when the USAAF was formed, so it seems likely this dates from betwen 1926 and 1941. The whistle is realistically finished in a bronze colour with blue lettering and is attached to a heavy marble base. We believe it could well have been a presentation item and perhaps to be used as a paperweight on an officer's desk or maybe as a display item in the military store. The whistle itself measures 3.5" (9cm) and including the base it is almost 4" high (10cm). If any visitors can give us a more accurate description, please let us know and we will add to the listing. | £48.00 |
| 3660 | | | RAF 60th Anniversary Commemorative Glass - Finely engraved with the RAF crest surmounted by Per Ardva Ad Astra and below 1918-1978. This glass was clearly issued to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the RAF and is in perfect condition. It would sit happily in an RAF collection but with its heavy base would make an extremely practical whiskey tumbler. | £25.00 |
| 3453 | | | RAF Technical Training Command Plaque - On offer is a oak framed board with an applied crest named to RAF Technical Training Command and surmounted by a King's Crown and below the legend Labore. Terrestri. Caelestis. Victoria. The crest is in extremely good condition and we would guess the item dates from around the WWII period. Measures 16" x 14 " (40cm x 354cm). | £35.00 |
| 4393 | | | RAFA Isle of Man Presentation Item - Featuring a wood base surmounted by a brass globe on which is perched a brass eagle with outstretched wings. To one side is an RAF ensign while to the other is the Isle of Man flag. The base carries the Royal Air Force Association scroll and below silvered engraved plaque reading "Presented to the Royal Air Force Association Isle of Man Branch with grateful thanks from all members on the occasion of the Annual Conference Douglas 21/22nd June, 1952." This item was purchased at auction after the Isle of Man RAFA Club recently closed due to the sadly declining membership. While signs of years of polishing to the plaque and base, it is still readable and the item has a beautiful aged patina. Measures 12" (31cm) from base to top of flag. | £125.00 |
| 3697 | | | Embroidered RAF Crest - Framed and glazed, the embroidery features the RAF crest surmounted by a King's Crown and below the legend 'Per Adua Ad Astra' meaning 'Through adversity to the Stars.' The embroidery is nicely worked and the colours are still vibrant. The cotton backer shows some stains but these do not effect the crest. Frame measures 12.5"x10.5"(32cm x27cm) | £24.00 |
| 3449 | | | RAF/USAAF HQ 3rd Bomb Wing Presentation Cigarette Case - Featuring finely engraved RAF King's Crown wings to left corner of the lid and USAAF winged officers' branch insignia to the right. Below is engraved "Presented to Norman & Phyllis on the Occasion of their Marriage from the Officers of HQ 3rd Bomb Wing 1943". We sadly have no surname so difficult to trace the provenance of this piece but speculate Norman and Phyllis were both serving officers in the RAF and USAAF back in 1943. The 3rd Bomb Wing, part of the 8th Air Force, was formed in October 1942 and the HQ was based at Elveden Hall in Suffolk flying B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft. The case shows minors knocks commiserate with its 65 years but a unique item of appeal to both USAAF and RAF collectors. Measures 7" x 3.5" (18 cm x 9 cm) | £175.00 |
| 4215 | | | RAF Faygate Presentation Cigarette Case - Featuring finely engraved RAF King's Crown wings to lid and a dedication below "To F/Lt J Edwards from Officers, NCO's, Airman & Airwomen of Salvage Section 49 MU RAF Fagate 1945".
Fagate, situation in West Sussex, was where crashed German aircraft were recovered to for evaluation with some being restored to flying condition. Subsequently, they were reprocessed for scrap wth many continuing to serve with the RAF! We presume this box was presented to Fl/Lt Edwards perhaps on leaving RAF Faygate in 1945. The silver is hallmarked London and dates to 1944. Some minor knocks but in generally in very nice original condition with a teak fitted interior. Measures 7" x 3.5" (18 cm x 9 cm) | £195.00 |
| 4214 | | | RAF Trench Art Cigarette Lighter - Manufactured from an inert Hispanol 20mm cannon shell mounted on a base cut from a 40mm Bofurs Gun shell case which is dated 1938. The shell head is removable revealing the lighter section and while the striker wheel does create a spark, we have not tested the item and it is therefore for sale for decorative purposes only. Measures 9" (23 cm) | £45.00 |
| 53 | | | RAF 1940 dated Kit Bag - Originally issued to Higbey whose service no. was 1198025. Sadly we have no history on his service career but he has clearly written his name on the side of the bag and on the top flap cover. The bag carries a good clear AM stamp, King's Crown and the emotive 1940 manufacturing date. We checked to see if, by chance, Higbey was one of the "Few" but sadly this is not the case. Minor service wear but overall in exceptional condition and would be perfect for a period aviation display or for re-enactment purposes. Complete with closure rope and the brass eyelets are in perfect condition. | £28.00 |
| 2677 | | | Framed Photograph of a Luftwaffe Administrative Officer - This clearly shows rank badges for a Hauptbrandmeister and to the base of the photograph is embossed "Photo-Wiebeche". Below is a set of fabric Luftwaffe national emblem badge with evidence of original stitching together with a cloth Reichskokade. The grouping is mounted in a more recent frame measuring 28cm x 13cm (11.5" x 5.25"). | £68.00 |
| 2493 | | | Wing Commander Robert Stanford Tuck Flying Logbook - From a limited edition of 2,500 copies which were published in 1996 and is an exact facsimile of the original. This lavishly produced replica covers Stanford Tuck's RAF career from his basic training in 1935 in an Avro Tutor to his final sortie in a Canberra in 1954. The section covering the Battle of Britain in superb and recorded in the matter of fact manner of the day. Tuck's final wartime Op on 28th January, 1942 reads "Rhubarb Patrol. Prisoner of War." When he went "in the bag", he had achieved 29 victories and had he continued on operations, could well have become Britain's top scoring ace. As close as it comes to owning the real thing! Complete with numbered limited edition certificate. | £35.00 |
| PC35 | | | Aircraft Tail Wheel - On offer is a tail wheel complete with original tyre and alloy hub. The hub is stamped AH05779/1 and we understand this is from an Airspeed Oxford Aircraft.
