 | | Trench Art Eagle and Letter Opener - Manufactured from Plexiglas, almost certainly recovered from crashed aircraft. The eagle is mounted on a hardwood base with detailed carving. This is accompanied by a letter opener made from the same material and embossed on the handle, Tunis 1943. These items were purchased together and were probably fashioned by the same hand. Eagle wing span 6" (15cm), letter opener 8" (20cm) | £45.00
 | | RAF Crest and Wings - Cast in brass with the crest surmounted by a King's Crown. This item has the look of a bonnet or radiator mount, but the base has not been threaded for attachment and we presume therefore it was designed as a display or presentation item. Nice original condition, but without maker's marks. Wing span 9.5" (24cm) | £45.00
 | | RAF Benevolent Fund Bell - Cast from alloy salvaged from a shot down Luftwaffe aircraft between 1939-1945 and sold in the early post-war period to raise funds for RAF charities. Features in relief Churchill, Stalin and Roseveldt and with Churchill's victory V to the handle. In excellent original condition complete with clapper. Measures 6" (14cm) | £45.00
 | | The Battle of Britain Tankard by Gordon Davies - Issued by the RAFA in 1990 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. It features fine transfer prints of Spitfires, although sadly the Hurricane that played such a crucial role has been omitted! It also features a pilot scrambling as well as the RAF crest. Measures 5" high (12cm), 1 pint capacity. | £25.00
 | | Trench Art Plaque named to 50 Bomber Squadron - Skillfully worked in brushed alluminium with a black mount. The alluminium has been finely engraved and painted with a King's Crown, 50 Squadron Crest and below F/S R. Stansfield, who we imagine was responsible for creating this piece. 50 Squadron was reformed in 1937 flying Hampdens from RAF Waddington and they were responsible for dropping the first bombs in anger in WWII. Minor wear to paint, but generally excellent condition. 10.25" x 8.75" (26cm x 23cm) | £45.00
 | | Framed Photograph of a Luftwaffe Administrative Officer - This clearly shows rank badges for a Hauptbrandmeister and to the base of the photograph is embossed "Photo-Wiebeche". Below is a set of fabric Luftwaffe national emblem badge with evidence of original stitching together with a cloth Reichskokade. The grouping is mounted in a more recent frame measuring 28cm x 13cm (11.5" x 5.25"). | £68.00
 | | Royal Naval Air Service Trench Art - Carved in the form of a sabre with RNAS initials to the grip and a metal albatross applied to the blade. Manufactured from polished hardwood, probably reclaimed from a damaged propeller or wing strut. The Royal Naval Air Service was formed in 1912, but was merged with the Royal Flying Corp in 1918 to form the RAF. A unique souvenir from the early days of military aviation. 31cm (12"). | £36.00
 | | RAF Inspectorate of Recruiting Plaque - Manufactured from cast alluminium, it has provision for mounting to a wall on the reverse and was probably used outside the Inspectorate section. The paintwork has been renewed, based on the remains of the original paint and the item is in good condition. It is surmounted by a Queen's Crown, so it is definitely post war. It is a large and imposing item measuring 19" x 15" (48cm x 38"). | £85.00
 | | 614 Bomb Squadron Mounted Plaque - Manufactured in cast brass, featuring a devil's head, horse shoe and falling bomb and with an enamel 8th Airforce plaque above. It is mounted on a pine backboard. Below is a nicely engraved plaque named to 614th Bomb Sqn. 401 St Bomb GP (H). The 8th Airforce B-17's were based at Deenethorpe, England from November '43 to April '45. The reverse of the board carries information on the 401 Bomb Group and the 614 Bomb Squadron. We have no idea of age, but would imagine this has been made up post war. Board measurements are 14" x 11" (36cm x 28cm). | £58.00
 | | Wing Commander Robert Stanford Tuck Flying Logbook - From a limited edition of 2,500 copies which were published in 1996 and is an exact facsimile of the original. This lavishly produced replica covers Stanford Tuck's RAF career from his basic training in 1935 in an Avro Tutor to his final sortie in a Canberra in 1954. The section covering the Battle of Britain in superb and recorded in the matter of fact manner of the day. Tuck's final wartime Op on 28th January, 1942 reads "Rhubarb Patrol. Prisoner of War." When he went "in the bag", he had achieved 29 victories and had he continued on operations, could well have become Britain's top scoring ace. As close as it comes to owning the real thing! Complete with numbered limited edition certificate. | £35.00
| PC35 | | | Aircraft Tail Wheel - On offer is a tail wheel complete with original tyre and alloy hub. The hub is stamped AH05779/1 and we understand this is from an Airspeed Oxford Aircraft. | 1321 | | | Newman Industries Ltd. Yate Presentation Ashtray - Mounted above is a fine brass model of a Hurricane fighter on a painted metal stand. Newmans of Yate, nr. Bristol were contracted by the Air Ministry in WWII to fabicate aircraft parts and we assume this included components for the Hurricane. The factory was clearly considered a threat by the German High Command and was bombed by the Luftwaffe in 1941. The ashtray base, which could be made from Bakelite, has a minor chip to the lower edge, but this does obviously detract and is a fine example which was no doubt presented by Newmans to their corporate customers at the time. Diameter 7" (17cm) | |
 | | Trench Art Picture Frame - Manufactured from an original mahogany propeller tip with brass leading edge and with a cut out frame to the centre, complete with a black and white photograph of an aviator. He appears to be wearing Luxor goggles, so would seem to date from the 1930's, although this pattern was popular up until the Battle of Britain. The perspex picture cover is somewhat opaque, but this gives the item a period feel. It would easily be replaced in required. Mounted on a wooden base, this is a very aesthetically pleasing item and the picture would easily be changed to feature the aviator in your life! Measures 8" (20cm) high including base. |
 | | Model Spitfire and Hurricane - A fine example of trench art with each fighter fashioned out of aircraft alloy and mounted on a turned pine base. A most unusual pair with the Spitfire dominating and the smaller Hurricane sweeping below its port wing. Spitfire wing span 6" (15cm). |

We assume the jug was issued on the 35th anniversary of the liberation of the prisoners from the camp which was situated at Sagan in Poland. Fine condition. 20cm. | |
 | | RAF S.Y.C Ashtray - Made of brass with an enamel burgee to front featuring an RAF roundel against an orange background, engraved below RAF S.Y.C. It measures 8 cm (3") |
