Luftwaffe Aircraft Seat Frame
This item is reported to have been recovered from Lubek in 1945 and brought back to the UK as a souvenir. It was then re-upholstered and used for many years by the owner's children in their playroom which was the condition in which we purchased it. When the cover was removed we found a paper label reading German Jet Komet Pilot's Seat Lubek 1945. We also discovered under the paint an original data plate which is somewhat faded but appears to be stamped RGS145 and below 27-H-1970 and 5783-14, although this is not entirely clear. The chair features four rubber pads carrying ink stamps which are difficult to decipher but could possibly idicate a flight school. The frame which appears to be aluminium alloy is finished in original black paint. If any visitors can give us a positive ID, we would be happy to add that to our description, but in the meantime it remains a mystery item but no doubt with a story to tell! Measures 15" wide by 16" deep and 20" high(38cm x 42cm x 53cm).
