Royal Flying Corps Mk. V Aviation Panel Watch circa 1916
The black painted dial is marked 30 hour non luminous Mk. V and above the subsidiary dial B.E.11072. These watches were fitted with a 15 jewel movement and made by a variety of manufacturers and the code B.E. indicates this example was made by the Swiss firm Doxa. The back of the case is engraved with the RFC property mark of A and below a broad arrow. Slight damage to the black finished dial and minor marks to the crystal glass. The case is in good issued condition. The watch runs intermittently so may benefit from a clean and service, so on offer as a collector's item from the early days off aviation.
