Royal Naval Air Service Trench Art
Carved in the form of a sabre with RNAS initials to the grip and a metal albatross applied to the blade. Manufactured from polished hardwood, probably reclaimed from a damaged propeller or wing strut. The Royal Naval Air Service was formed in 1912, but was merged with the Royal Flying Corp in 1918 to form the RAF. A unique souvenir from the early days of military aviation. 31cm (12").
