Ship's Clinometer

In brass and mounted on a mahogany board for display purposes. These instruments would originally have been bulkhead mounted and utilised gravity to indicate the list on the ship to ensure cargo was evenly loaded. The instrument carries a scale at the base indicating lists up to 45 degrees port or starboard and this can be read from the string pointer. No maker's marks but in excellent condition. Measures 10" (26 cm).
