SS Tahiti Memorabilia
grouping named to a survivor of the sinking of SS Tahiti. This ship belonging to the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand sank August 15th 1930. Included is a piece of fabric cut from a Tahiti Lifebelt, signed by officers and crew of the Tahiti and the SS Ventura who rescued them from the ocean. Also included are 24 original photographs of the sinking, a cable confirming passenger Lilly rescued, a related newspaper article, a menu and other ephemera.
