Ship's Helm

An original helmsman's wheel in hardwood (looks like teak), with a brass centre and rings. The top spoke carries a brass thimble to provide a visual aid to the helmsman to indicate when the rudder is in the straight position. The back of the hub is stamped with the number 5200, 1, ES and the military broad arrow mark, so assume this wheel has come from a Royal Naval vessel. It measures 30" (76 cm), so is an excellent display size. Please note this is a heavy item and we can provide a postage quotation on request.
