British Graham Land Expedition 1934 - 1937 Full Field Goggles
These come complete with original fitted case indicating manufactured by Theodore Hamblin Ltd. of Wigmore Street, London. The BGLE was organised so as to map the west coast of Graham Land to explore alternative passages through the Stefenson Strait rather than through the eastern approach that proved so disastrous to Shackleton. The goggles are fitted with salvog yellow lenses which were used on the Everest expeditions and gave maximum protection to ultra violet light. Some fogging to lenses and associated age wear but a possible unique and historical set of expedition goggles.
