Parafilm Carton by Lindsay & Williams Ltd
A modest but attractive period box, now empty of original contents, that will appeal to both packaging and aviation collectors alike We understand it would have originally held blue insulating tape marketed under the brand name 'Parafilm'. Our research online indicates 'Parafilm is an amalgam of highly refined paraffin wax and pure rubber with the addition of colouring matter. Parafilm is thermoplastic non-hygroscopic, an excellent insulator and can be used with advantage in place of ordinary insulating tape particularly in wet situations'. The carton features a generic 1930's aircraft a that has then looks of a Hawker Hart and also carries an RAF roundel. Instructions in the top flap indicate the tape should be stored in a cool place! The box shows minor age wear but remains a rare survivor! Measures 3.5" x3.5" (9 cmm x9 cm)
