 |
 | RAF Battle Dress Blouse - A fine post war example, manufactured by Moss Bros. London and carrying Squadron Leader's Lace. The jacket has a Queen's Crown, but the original owner clearly served during WWII and was awarded a DFC as well as serving in Africa and Italy. In addition, he was awarded the Aircrew Europe Star, the Defence Medal, and the 1939 - 1945 Star. His final accolade was the award of a military OBE. Sadly, we do not know the owner's name, but we understand he retired as a Wing Commander. The tunic is in excellent condition and chest size is 40" regular (102 cm).

 | RAF 'D' Type Helmet - This example is of the second pattern, so probably dates from 1944. The helmet is in good issued condition with the receiver cups showing no signs of cracking. All snaps, poppers and buckles are in place and working. The lining is also clean and is named to Sgt. Williams and service no. 431427. The helmet is a size 3.

 | 1939 Pattern RAF Flying Boots - Synonymous with Battle of Britain Fighter Pilots, the '39 pattern are becoming increasingly rare and this is the first pair we have had in for many months. They are the early pattern with a webbing strap to the top of the leg and feature black chrome leather uppers with canvas legs and fleece linings. The boots have the original leather and canvas pullers which are stamped with the King's Crown, A.M. and indicate size 8 fitting 6 and a contract date of 1939. While the canvas legs show minor scuffing, they are in far better condition than most examples of this pattern we have had. The original leather soles are fitted, but have been recently resoled in the forepart and new heel tips fitted. The left boot has the initials T.R. written at the top of the leg, but sadly we have no idea who the wartime owner was. A great pair to display in your RAF or Battle of Britain collection.

 | Rolls Royce Merlin Piston Ashtray - A unique ashtray manufactured post war utilising part of a Merlin engine piston, as used in wartime Spitfires, Hurricanes and Lancasters. The centre is embossed with the RAF crest, while to the top is Winston Churchill's "Never in the field of human conflict" quotation with a facsimile signature. Below is confirmation that the item is manufactured from a Merlin piston as used in the Battle of Britain August - October 1940. The ashtray also carries a presentation inscription "Muriel and George to Harry 1947". It measures 5.5" (14 cm).

 | Luftwaffe Single Zip Flying Boots - These are becoming increasing hard to find and this pair have clearly seen significant service use. The leg sections have been heavily repaired. In addition, the boots are fitted with period Lightning zips. The soles appear original, while the heel top pieces have been replaced. The leather shoe section is in excellent condition and these would make a perfect pair for a mannequin display (particularly if the flying suit or trousers worn over the legs), but these boots are definitely not wearers!

 | 'M' Type Oxygen Mask - RAF Fast Jet Issue, Ref 6D/1837. This example, whilst dated 1960, has never been issued and is complete with the manufacturer's box and issue instruction! Simply cannot be bettered.

 |
 | Luftwaffe Aircrew Flying Boots - This pair is as issued and in the condition we dream of, but rarely find! They are totally original in every respect and would be hard to better. The black leather sections are soft and supple, while the beige nubuck leg tops show minor staining. The zips are marked Ri Ri and D.R.P. and the boots have the original cloth manufacturer's labels. We estimate the size to be about UK 8, Continental 42, US 8 1/2. The soles are original and show minimal wear. We will wait a long time to find such an exceptional example of these increasingly rare boots.

 |
 | Luftwaffe Equipment Bag - Made from canvas with leather trim, straps and metal buckles. Nicely stamped on interior flap with Luftwaffe Eagle and Swastika FL.U.V. and dated 1940. We understand this may have been used for transporting a portable radio set. Some service wear and the leather straps are a little fragile but great for display.

 |
 | 1943 Pattern Escape Boots - Superb RAF pair, Ref. 22C/919 in Size 7 (41). These boots, based on the design of Major Clayton Hutton, are totally original, however the concealed knife is absent. Original zips, broad arrow marked, hard to fault.

 | 'Mosquito' Art Work Irvin Flying Jacket - This rare example was issued to a WWII pilot based in Northern Ireland and judging by the art work applied to the back panels, he flew Mosquitos. The Air Ministry frowned on any personalisation of uniforms (unlike the USAAF), and this is the first time we have had an Irvin with original artwork. Sadly the owner's name and squadron is not known. The waist belt has been removed and the jacket has some repairs, so is on offer as a collector's display jacket but a unique example to add to your Irvin collection.

 |
 | RAF G type Flying Helmet - Fitted with receivers and wiring loom, this example is dated 1966 and is a size 2, although like most examples of this pattern, seems to fit more like a wartime size 4. Originally used in conjunction with the RAF Mk I and Mk IA flying helmet. Complete with snaps and clip for the H type oxygen mask. Minor service wear.

 | Air Ministry 'Scramble' Bell - Before you get too excited, this is an ex film prop from Pinewood Studios! While we do not usually offer reproduction items, this is actually a genuine bell chrome finished on brass, but engraved by the chaps at the studio prop department with the King's Crown, A.M. and 1940. The bell is fitted with a red top, embossed with the crown and is complete with clapper. Would be ideal for re-enactors, where it could be risky to use the genuine article, or for the RAF collector who cannot afford the real thing, even if he should find it! It measures 10" (25 cm.) at the base and 14" (36 cm.) high including hanger. Overall in good conditin but some wear to chrome finish.
